Salo(o)n
A Group Show
November 13 - January 9

Salo(o)n (read "Salon/Saloon") is a group exhibition showcasing work from local artists Allison Manch, Kristen T. Ramirez and Laura C. Wright, as well as two Los Angeles based members of Goldmine Shithouse, Colin Burns and Travis Lindquist. Mediums range greatly and include many recycled and reused objects while the premise of the show is rooted in the "wild" western culture, consumption and heartache.

For Salo(o)n, Kristen T. Ramirez sends a message in bottles by way of an acid etched series of vessels bearing the lyrics to Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" while Allison Manch borrows love lorn lyrics from old country songs on her hand embroidered vintage handkerchiefs. Colin Burns and Travis Lindquist utilize type and text in their hand crafted prints and paintings depicting bar banter. Laura C. Wright employs fabric-covered bottles to resemble female anatomy; in other works, vintage toy train tracks wind their way through fields of felt.
